Ms. Megan, Chef
I joined the Pumpkin Patch Family in June 2013. I enjoy cooking, sewing, playing the piano and spending time with my husband, daughter and my dog. I have worked in childcare for several years and I love cooking and baking for the kids here at the Pumpkin Patch Childcare & Learning Center!
At Pumpkin Patch Childcare & Learning Center we understand the important role nutrition plays in the physical, social, mental, and emotional development of children. Our menus are carefully designed under the guidance of Owner Rita Palashewski to ensure that all meals are high quality, nutritional, and wholesome. We participate in the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program and make sure that all of our meals exceed the nutritional and serving size requirements of this program so that children always get plenty of healthy food to eat.
All of our meals are freshly prepared at our center daily. Our meals include a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade baked goods, and main dishes. We know what children like to eat, and we love introducing them to new foods that are kid-friendly. Since our meals are freshly prepared each day at our center, it is easy for us to meet many different dietary needs.
We believe that meal time is a chance for children to learn and grow. Our meals are served family style allowing children and teachers to sit and eat together. This allows children the opportunity to practice passing and serving food, table manners, and to develop social skills. We also use meal time as an opportunity to talk about the colors, names and health benefits of the foods they are eating. We encourage you to check out our sample menu to see the kinds of foods you can expect your child to enjoy at our center.
